Stain is the finish for wood worth showing. We strip or sand back to clean wood, condition soft species so the color takes evenly, and build the stain and topcoat for the exposure: a front door in afternoon sun needs a different system than an interior stair rail.

How long does exterior stain last?
It depends on sun and exposure. South and west facing doors need a fresh topcoat sooner. We will give you a maintenance schedule with the job.
